Meet the Team
Sandro Lombardi
Founder & Computer Vision Engineer
Sandro Lombardi studied computer science with a focus on visual computing at ETH Zurich, after which he pursued a doctorate in computer vision at the Computer Vision and Geometry Group (CVG). During his PhD and postdoc years, he focused on 3D reconstruction and neural representations, working in close collaboration with ETH spin-off Astrivis on bridging the gap from research to production systems.
In 2023, he founded Maivico to offer consulting and engineering services as a freelancer and independent contractor, spanning computer vision topics from image retrieval, segmentation, stitching, detection, to localization. Through Maivico, he now helps startups and SMBs develop practical computer vision solutions that work in real-world environments.
Désirée Hohl
Administrative & Marketing
Désirée Hohl is a versatile administrative professional with experience spanning gastronomy, banking, and various back-office roles. With her aptitude for IT, she joined Maivico to manage day-to-day operations like accounting, social media, marketing, and customer communications.
